Medical Education 

UC Merced is focused on creating an additional UC quality educational opportunity. A primary goal is to increase the number of health care professionals practicing in the San Joaquin Valley, particularly those that are competent in multi-cultural medicine and who are committed to serving the needs of the region.

An equally important goal is to bring biomedical research to the Valley with all of the associated benefits that have occurred in communities adjacent to UC medical schools. No new hospital or clinical facilities are planned. The proposed model for medical education is based on partnerships with sister UC campuses and existing health care resources in the Valley.
